Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride
Tim Burton has done it again. This afternoon, Linh and I went and saw Corpse Bride and loved it.
The characters are perfect, creepy, and lovable. They remind me of those old Christmas claymation characters from the 70s. Those always creeped me out for some reason. The cinematography was magical and fantastic as all of Tim’s films have been. The plot was somewhat predictable but didn’t distract too much from the film. Danny Elfman’s score was also really good though his songs weren’t up to par probably from the cliche lyrics. It’s a little weird when you have only four songs in a movie–kinda random. Why put in only four when you can just make the whole thing a movie musical? The tunes aren’t even catchy compared to The Nightmare Before Christmas or even Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Though, “Remains of the Day” was pretty hip. But is the Danny Elfman choir getting old already? Gotta love the scat with Mr. Bonejangles though! All in all, if you haven’t seen this film yet, go see it.

Hmmmmmm…. good question. I’m not really sure! Music can do so much. It’s literally everywhere. And it will always be there. It’s ever changing; no music is the same. It can convey emotions through musical instruments. It’s what many of us turn to to forget our lives for a few minutes. I guess I just love being a part of that–creating something that is unique to me. Something that other people can enjoy. That makes music very important to me.

Thats so awesome. You know, i have a friend who probably knows who you are, he’d never belive that I’ve actually talked to someone about music other than my directors and friends at school. I haven’t seen him since May, but I (hopefully) will get to see him withen the next few weeks. This thursday is actually his 40th B-day.
He was helping me with one of my compositions but now im on my own. curently the piece is hidden away in the midst of my mini music library.
