Late Nights Drinking
So it’s about 1:30 (I know–it’s not that late) but I’m tired and can’t sleep. Maybe because of the rootbeer I just finished.
Either way, I though I’d share a little update on the movie musical. With Malediction finally finished (my part anyway) and with winter break approaching in about two weeks, I finally have time to start thinking about it again. I finished an up-to-date “step outline” last night around this time. Both Mike and I agree (he’s modeling now!…) that this is a better plot to frame our movie around.
It’s similar to what we’ve had but it’s a little simpler and seems to flow better. “Profound simplicity” is hard to write (I read it in a book). Since we began thinking about the project back in May, we’ve accumulated an entire binder full of content.
Much of the libretto is written–it’s just a matter of filling it out, changing some ideas, adding, scratching, and just seeing what works better. Hopefully, we’ll have a working script by Christmas so I can get to writing the music! Filming by February? You never know… Maybe production of the soundtrack at least…
