New Projects

Thursday, September 7th, 2006

Well, I’ve done it again–swallowed more than I can chew. It’s a good thing I’m a hungry man or else I’d be doomed. That meaning, I’ve got a lot of projects this month. Number one, of course, got to get Conan to the masses! It’s been a long time coming for such a short project. Number two, a couple of good film friends of mine have asked me to compose some music for their 16mm short films for school–one of them, The Running Man, by Cameron Banning and the other, Sitting, by Kevin Phipps. On top of that, I got an email from a new director, Nathan Blackwell, who is just finishing up his feature film, Billy the Blood Donor, who got my name from his cinematographer who got me a copy of my Know99 interview way back when I was guest composer with the Phoenix Symphony. That was over two and a half years ago and he still kept my card! It’s a great project though–very well written and acted so I’m excited to do a few tracks for it (even though it really doesn’t need all that much music). So what happened to getting back to concert music you ask? I wish I knew myself… Somewhere, somebody’s probably not very happy with me…

Conan Photoshoot

Sunday, September 3rd, 2006

So yesterday morning, I had Ryan and Erik come over to take some headshots for the GetOut article on our Conan project that’s due out sometime this month. We finished our headshots and had a few minutes to take some silly ones with all three of us. Needless to say, we had a blast :-).
