Reason #4… parking tickets during the summer after 6PM when the meters stop at 7. Jerks.Reason #3… accusing you of terrorism.
Reason #2… library fines for books you turned in.

Because at a John Mayer concert, you can never be too sure. I’m not exactly sure what the front of that poster said, but the back said it all. Tonight concluded a pretty busy week. Yeah, I have to work tomorrow still, but for the past two weeks I’ve been working 9 - 5 and doing something in the evenings. Last night, Linh and I celebrated 4 years together at the John Mayer concert. I’ll admit it wasn’t the straightest event I’ve ever been to, but I will say that even though John Mayer’s music is kinda poppy/teenage girl-ish/old lady-ish/gay boy-ish, the guy can totally play the guitar and sing. He is an amazing performer — probably better than his studio recordings. Needless to say, Linh is a huge John Mayer fan and she had a great time. One thing that was kind of cool was that Ben Folds opened with an hour long set for him. That was a little more my style than Mayer, but both were still very good.On the completely other side of the spectrum, I just finished editing a couple of rap music videos for a local artist, D-ONE. You may remember the film shoot back in March. I wasn’t exactly supposed to be the editor but with Kevin off AD-ing on his first Hollywood film and Darren (D-ONE) leaving for Atlanta in a couple weeks to shop himself around, I jumped in front of the train and finished them. Check ‘em out on YouTube. Darren… I mean… “D-One’s” rap is amazing. It’s catchy, clever, and colorful. And guess what? Him and I are totally gonna collaborate once we get some other projects out of the way — Kanye and Jon Brion style!! Word.

New Projects

The summer is here and that means it’s time to start new projects. Granted, I’m not finished with several old projects, I work 4 or 5 days a week now, and I’ll be moving two more times before I’m finally settled in, but it’s always good to start new projects. Last summer, we did our Conan Musical. This summer, me and a couple new film friends I met at ASU (Jeff is pictured below with a baby carriage) are working together to make a couple of short films. One of the scripts we have chosen is my friend Ryan’s short film Extraordinaro on His Girlfriend’s Birthday which is basically about a superhero who is forced to take a day off from fighting crime to spend it with his somewhat overly-controlling girlfriend. And yes, we just bought an antique, German-made, wicker baby carriage for one shot this morning. Thank you Craigslist!
