Back to School…. Again.
It’s official: I’m a Junior in college and I still have no major. Oh well. School starts tomorrow like it has for the past 15 years of my life. I’m unusually unprepared; I haven’t gotten any books nor do I have any idea where my classes are. I guess I can figure those things out tomorrow. Why on Earth am I so unenthusiastic about school anymore? It’s a puzzle.
At least I had one weekend completely void of cell-phones, obligations, and commitments. As we’ve done the past couple of years, my brothers and I head up to The Rim country for a little alone time.
Just me, Kaleob, Theron, and Theron’s two dogs, Willy and Charlie.
The weather was so beautiful despite the weather report forecasting a 50% chance of thunderstorms the entire weekend. We didn’t even have a drop. Wrong again weather man!
In fact, the weather was so perfect even we could wade through the water. Usually, mountain streams are pretty dang cold (even in Arizona) but proved refreshing especially for our feet after our steep hike down into Chevelon Canyon. We even saw some wildlife: a few deer, a run-in with a few stray coyotes, and even a couple of wild turkeys!
By the end of the hike, we were exhausted (and so were the dogs who had a ruffer hike than we did).
We sat around the fire, played a few rounds of “Big Deuce” and gazed at the blanket of stars overhead.
School sucks. Boo.
